It has been two years now since CMS published significant revisions to requirements addressing the use of restraint and seclusion. Yet, this body of regulation continues to be one of our most challenging areas of compliance. Join us for a comprehensive review of the regulations and assure that your organization has a thorough understanding of what is required and how best to comply. Topics to be covered include:

  • The terminology used in differentiating restraint and seclusion use
  • What is considered restraint and what is not
  • Expectations for ordering, and monitoring patients in restraint and seclusion
  • Staff training requirements
  • Proposed changes by CMS on restraint death reporting requirements
  • And more!

Tools & Takeaways
In addition to the PowerPoint presentation, organizations will receive:

  • A template policy on restraint and seclusion
  • A staff training and competency validation form
  • A restraint death reporting log designed to meet the proposed changes to the COP.
