Richard Curtis RN, MS, HACP

Rick Curtis is the Principal Officer for CIHQ. Rick is nationally recognized as an expert on Joint Commission standards and the survey process. Prior to forming CIHQ, Rick was the Corporate Director of Licensing, Accreditation for one of the largest health system’s in the United States. Rick has been a regular speaker at numerous state and national conferences on the Joint Commission / CMS survey process. In addition, Rick is the host and primary speaker for CIHQ’ monthly audio conferences on various Joint Commission and CMS topics.
Rick’s clinical background is in critical care nursing with a focus in cardiovascular service lines. He has held both clinical and executive management level positions in Quality, Risk, Education, Infection Control, and Regulatory Compliance. Rick is nationally certified in healthcare accreditation, and serves as the Chair of the Board of Examiners for the Healthcare Accreditation Certification Program (HACP). Rick received his Nursing Degree from the University of Hawaii and has a Master of Science Degree in Health Services Administration. Rick is a resident of Round Rock, TX.

Sandra Kveton MT (ASCP) SH, CPHQ
Sandra Kveton is an associate with CIHQ. Sandra received her Bachelor degree in Medical Technology from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
Prior to joining CIHQ, Sandra was the Standards Professional for the Covenant Health System located in Lubbock, TX. Sandra was responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating the health systems JCAHO survey process as well as leading system efforts in complying with the Medicare Conditions of Participation. Sandra received her ASCP Certification in 1981, and went on to achieve her Specialist Certification in Hematology in 1988. Sandra is also been a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) since 2006. Sandra is a resident of Lubbock, TX

Randy Bohn, RN, MBA, CPHQ

Randy Bohn is an associate with CIHQ. Randy served in the Navy Nurse Corps for over 24 years, retiring with the rank of Commander. During his military career, Randy was responsible for the total quality management program at the naval hospitals where he was posted. His post-military career includes senior leadership positions in quality, regulatory compliance, and loss prevention for acute care hospitals and corporate health systems.
Randy received his Nursing Degree from the University of Arizona in 1979 and has a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Randy lives in Pleasanton, CA and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality

John Morrison MD
John Morrison MD is an associate with CIHQ specializing in physician leadership and regulatory compliance issues. John has served as a medical staff peer review consultant and educator for the Institute of Medical Quality (IMQ). In addition, John has surveyed for the Joint Commission and IMQ from 1990 to 2003.
John completed his residency and fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center, and is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease. John is a member of the American Academy of Physician Healthcare Executives. He resides in Carmel, CA. |

Ben Thurston CHFM, PE

Ben Thurston is an associate with CIHQ. Ben specializes in life safety, utility, and building management compliance for healthcare facilities. From 1982 to 2007, he served as a regional manager of facility operations and provided technical support services for a variety of hospitals.
Ben is Registered Professional Engineer in Hawaii and California, a Certified Energy Auditor in the state of California, a Senior Member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, and a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager. He is an active member of both the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the National Fire Protection Association. Ben resides in San Diego, CA.
